Attendance & postings

The MBBS attendance tracker that keeps theory and postings straight

Medical college attendance is never one number. You have lecture percentages, clinical postings, a shifting timetable, holidays, extra classes, and a logbook to keep up with. AlphaLearn keeps each of these as its own record — then tells you exactly how many classes you can miss and still clear 75%.

What it does

Everything a medical attendance app should actually do

This is more than a percentage box. It handles the real moving parts of an MBBS timetable — theory, postings, holidays, extra classes, and reminders — and turns them into decisions you can act on.

Per-subject theory tracking

Every subject stores classes held, attended, its own target, semester, and full history. Set one global target or fine-tune it subject by subject.

Clinical postings, kept apart

Postings get their own date range, working days, holidays, and status — with a date-level calendar and stats that never get tangled up with lecture attendance.

Safe bunks & catch-up

See how many classes you can miss while staying above target, or how many you must attend to recover — calculated live from your target percentage.

Auto-generated timetable

Build a weekly schedule once and AlphaLearn generates each day's classes. Today view, full view, presets, custom slots, and URL import are all built in.

What-if planner

Test a plan before you commit: the what-if calculator estimates how future attendance or absences will move your percentage.

Reminders & sync

Attendance and calendar-event reminders keep you honest, and everything syncs across phone, web, and desktop through your account.

Workflow

Four taps a day, and your attendance stays honest

Set up your subjects and weekly schedule once with the setup wizard. After that, AlphaLearn generates the day's classes for you — all you do is mark what happened. It pairs neatly with the Pomodoro timer and study planner when you actually sit down to study.

Set up once

Add your subjects with a target and starting counts, then a weekly Monday–Saturday schedule. The wizard does the rest.

Mark the day

Present, absent, cancelled, or extra — tap each class, or bulk mark all present. Multiple marks a day and undo are supported.

Handle postings

Log ward postings separately with working days and holidays. Smart guidance tells you how many days are safe or still needed.

Read the trend

Weekly trend, current streak, and per-subject analytics show where you stand before it becomes a problem at exam time.

The full toolkit

Every detail, because attendance is in the details

The small things are what save you at the end of a semester. Here is what the tracker handles under the hood across theory, postings, timetable, calendar, and logbook.

  • Mark theory classes present or absent for the current day, with multiple marks stored under unique attempt keys.
  • Undo any theory history entry, or bulk mark all of the day's subjects present in one tap.
  • Weekly trend, current streak, and subject analytics are computed from your full attendance history.
  • The what-if calculator estimates the impact of future attendance or absence on your percentage.
  • Export produces a shareable attendance summary.
  • Postings are created with subject, date range, working days, total days, attended and absent days, holidays, and status.
  • Posting stats calculate total open days, all and past holidays, all and past absences, total attended, and percentage.
  • A posting calendar shows date-level status with toggles; past postings can be archived or reopened.
  • Smart posting guidance tells you how many days are safe or still needed against your target.
  • Timetable supports semester-specific schedules with today view and full view.
  • Default days run Monday to Saturday, with common periods at 9, 10, 11 AM, 12, and 2 PM.
  • Presets cover common medical college patterns; edit cells, manage days and slots, add custom slots, or import via URL.
  • Calendar events can be added, edited, colored, and deleted, with upcoming events and scheduled notifications.
  • Logbook entries attach to a subject, type, semester, date, title, and content.
  • A daily class instance is generated from your weekly master schedule for each date.
  • Class statuses cover pending, present, absent, and cancelled; class types cover regular and extra.
  • The calendar shows daily attendance dots based on present versus total classes.
  • Data is cached locally for instant rendering, then synced through your AlphaLearn account.
Common questions

MBBS attendance, answered

The questions medical students ask most before they start tracking.

How does the safe-bunk calculator work?

AlphaLearn compares your held and attended classes against your target (75% by default). Above target, it shows how many upcoming classes you can miss and stay safe. Below it, it shows how many you need to attend to catch up.

Can it track clinical postings separately from theory?

Yes. Postings are a separate record with their own date range, working days, holidays, and status. Posting stats and the date-level posting calendar are calculated independently, so ward time never mixes with lecture attendance.

Do I have to mark every class by hand?

No. The setup wizard builds a weekly master schedule for Monday to Saturday and AlphaLearn generates each day's classes. You just mark them present, absent, cancelled, or add an extra — or tap “Mark all present.”

Does my data sync across devices?

Yes. Attendance is cached locally for instant loading and synced through your account, so it stays consistent on phone, web, and desktop. Keep your day organized alongside your study diary and planner.
